To the citizens of Murray:

These are difficult times for government at every level, and our city government is no exception.  Talk of budget deficits at the national and state level doesn’t always grab our attention, but when our local government is facing a potential deficit, that somehow becomes personal.  It really should be more important to us; this is home, where we live and work. 

That is why I believe it is more crucial than ever to support a candidate for mayor whose values, character, experience, and leadership will help guide this city through our current situation.  Now is not the time for unproven leadership.  Now is not the time for someone with little or no experience in city government.  Now is not the time for someone with questionable character.  That’s why it is the time to elect Butch Seargent as mayor of Murray, KY. 

Butch is a veteran of our city government, having served as Director of Planning and Engineering for over 14 years. During his time in that position he worked closely with several previous mayors, zoning boards, city councils, and the public.  Since “retiring” from city government he has served three terms on the city council. 

Butch also understands the needs of small businesses.  Prior to working for the city, Butch operated F. T. Seargent & Associates, Land Surveyors and continues to do so today.  Butch has also been a tireless supporter of Murray Main Street, currently serving as President. 

Butch Seargent doesn’t have any hidden agendas for becoming mayor.  Becoming mayor of Murray, KY is not a stepping stone to some other position or political aspiration.  He sincerely wants to serve the people of this community and give back to a community that has been such a blessing to him and his family. 

Let’s keep Murray growing in the right direction with strong, principled leadership.  Vote Butch Seargent for mayor.
